What’s up with the Michael Jackson Dr. Murray Trial: What will the verdict be?

http://www.dreamstime.com/-image12236373

by, Kathryn Sias

How will we free Doctor Murray on murder charges regarding Michael Jackson? That’s a great question. Some would be shocked at the mere suggestion!

Anyone interested in what the verdict will be in the Michael Jackson Dr. Murray trial?  I’m sure there are millions asking, “What’s up?”

In light of the fact that I’m very interested in the law I have decided to take on a campaign to free Doctor Murray from murder charges, (don’t shoot me, that would be a crime),  I decided to take on the campaign to free Dr. Murray on murder charges.

I do believe that Dr. Murray should be somehow punished, potentially forbidden to act as a Doctor in any capacity, but not go up for murder. Let’s get that fact straight from the start. I am in no way clearing this man of all quilt in the matter of the death of Michael Jackson.

The facts just do not support the fact that this was manslaughter, much less murder one.  Thank God he wasn’t charged with murder one or there would be a huge debate and a huge controversy over it, considering Casey Anthony’s juror’s were idiots, here a man sits, a more innocent soul, perhaps greedy but I doubt the kind physician tried to kill the pop icon. Was he negligent, you betcha!

FYI, I am not an attorney, but would love to be.  Rather,  I work for lawyers, and have paralegal certificates. I also obsess over law, that’s a fact!  I, like millions of others have real opinions and observations that I hope the jurors take into consideration in regards to the facts.  In fact, it wouldn’t bother me, not a teeny weeny bit, if the Defense or the Prosecution would read this article, possibly the LAPD investigators, and anyone of interest, including other press!  Don’t we need to consider further comments and public opinion, though we all know the legal system doesn’t allow being tried in the press, we aren’t trying anyone, merely stating opinions on the facts, or lack thereof.  I guess we’re all just stupid. It was a general consensus that Casey was guilty, the world screamed in agony as she was freed from her bars, while the only real opinion boiled down to a jury of a mere few, pale in comparison to the real world polls.

Again, please feel free to comment otherwise, if you agree or disagree!  I love to debate.  And you will have to admit that I’m right on many of the points I am making in this blog.  If you state your opinion clearly, maybe I’ll see something I haven’t considered.

How will we free Doctor Murray on murder charges? Don’t worry, there’s a section below on how we will prosecute the good Doctor. I am trying to report as responsibly as possible.

  • Have you ever seen a man so remorseful?  For sure Casey Anthony did not appear a bit remorseful.  Does the law take into account obvious remorse?  From my research I found that although the jury  can’t decide guilt or innocence on remorse, the judge can use it when he chooses the final judgment see:  ” Is remorse taken into account in a trial ?
  • There were no living eye-witnesses, other than Dr. Murray present during the death of the pop-icon.  Unfortunately there were only two people present in the room that know the real facts. One is dead (Michael Jackson) while the other is still alive and able to testify to the facts.  Dr. Murray’s defense opened with a statement claiming that he (Dr. Murray) went to the bathroom, and when he (Dr. Murray) came back Michael Jackson had already, or was in the process of, administering the final lethal dose himself and died instantly.  Has Doctor Murray taken a polygraph to support any of his statements regarding the time line of the last hours of Micheal Jackson’s life, that sad day?
  • In my opinion Michael Jackson has been drug addicted for a very long time.   Yes Michael Jackson has been drug addicted for a very long time. A reasonable physician would not help him continue a drug addiction rather, he would refuse to care for that individual or at the very least, work to relieve the addiction, or reverse the addiction. A responsible Doctor would work hard to help his patient, not feed his addiction. But do we have hard evidence that he indeed did feed his addiction, or was he, in his opinion acting responsibly, after all, it was his legal call.

How will we prosecute Dr. Murray?  I don’t want to sound one sided, and although I am determined to see Dr. Murray exonerated of manslaughter  charges, I have to admit, we have some disturbing facts that we need to dissect.

  • What was the first phone call made by Dr. Murray?  He (Dr. Murray) text a friend, Mr. Williams,  frantically and before calling 911. Here’s the time-line the employee explained. The employee claimed to observe some disturbing facts the day of Michael Jackson’s death.  According to one witness,  there were certain “things” in the room that day, “things”  Michael Jackson  wouldn’t want the public to know about.  The former employee claims that Dr. Murray’s only concern seemed to be stressing the fact that these “things” of concern needed to be taken care of or removed, or that he’s sure Michale didn’t want the public to know about these “things”.   The singer’s employees continue to describe the day he died.

-Michael Jackson’s two oldest children Paris and Prince were standing at the bedroom door panicked, whereby they were ordered away from the room. Paris was reported to be rolled up into a ball, crying.  What a sad observation for this employee.

Does the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) really care too much for the Jackson’s, considering he has been up on so many charges already? Is there any bias within the Department?  To answer that question,I’ve personally worked with Michael Lorenz, Supervisor of LA detectives.  He’s a genuine man, a decent person who cares hugely about the law and justice.  He’s a family man with a mission in his own non-profit adventure to secure jobs for the homeless and jobless of his great county. I can’t believe for one moment that this department is biased in any way. In fact, I would love their opinion, if even incognito, regarding this trial or my own statements.

Micheal Jackson’s slurred speech audio recording  How does this play into the picture?  In the “Michael Jackson’s slurred speech audio recording” you hear Michael talking about his future tour.  To me the facts are clear.  Michael did not plan a suicide, nor did the good Doctor Murray want his famed client dead?  Why would he want Michael dead when he had a future as the physician to Michael?  That my dear, just doesn’t add up, for me anyway.

Inside information on the defense team strategy:

They (the defense) had some very specific descriptions on what happened on that day.  They did confess that Dr. Murray had been administering propofol.  He (Michael) got out of bed and took 8 (2mg tabs) of Lorazapam, so to me it appears an accidental overdose, considering it was Michael that took the Lorazapam, if in fact that is the case.

He had a port in his leg, hooked up to an IV bag, so says the good Doctor who claims also that Michael injected the lethal dose himself, into the tubing.

Dr. Murray claimed he did not know that he (Michael) was being treated with face procedures and further drugs, including Demerol had been prescribed that the Doctor did not know about.   With all this being said; The facts clearly show Michael was a drug addicted pop icon (how unfamiliar or shocking is that?)

My concerns

You have a patient that is in distress, and the Doctor did not call 911 first. That’s outrageous. Is that explainable from the defense standpoint.?  Sure, why would you call 911 when you’re a trained physician?  Murray also supposedly ordered CPR equipment for his upcoming tour.  It looks as if he was going to administer propofol during the card.  Did he have a leads and a crash cart present in the room that Michael had been administered these drugs, and eventually died in. He had a to be a pretty educated Doctor to be allowed to even purchase this drug.

Is it obvious that the reason Michael Jackson hired the Doctor to start with is that Murray was willing to give him whatever he wanted?  Of course it’s possible, but is it provable?

The defense claims that there was not enough propofol in Micheal’s system to cause death, hat’s going to show that something else was administered that was not administered intravenously. He (Michael) had to be in a lot of pain, but did he need all these drugs to relieve the pain? What really happened to Michael Jackson ?

What is he going to say when they ask him, “Do you think it’s the standard of care to give propofol in someone’s house?’  Another Doctor who traveled with Jackson previously, reportedly will not comment as to whether or not  he also gave anesthesia to the famed pop star.

Jermaine’s point of view…he won’t admit to Michael being an addict.   Talk about looking through rose colored glasses, it’s such a shame.  Had Micheal’s own family and friends been more aware of their beloved brother, son, uncle or friends addictions, could he still be alive?  Could they also be to blame for Micheal’s death? I personally would feel to blame if I didn’t try to help someone I know who was severely addicted.  Isn’t that considered a religious blood-quilt by many conservative Christians? (I told you this article would be controversial. As a reminder, keep it clean in the posts and replies)

I’m sure it was very difficult for the Jackson family to lose their beloved, and to admit to his weaknesses.  The defense will be saying that it was Michael himself administering his own lethal drugs. Of course that will be hurtful to the entire group of loved ones.  The Michael Jackson Dr Murray trial defense team claimed today, September 28th, that Michael acted semi-conscious potentially pretending to have fallen asleep so the Doctor would leave the room. There is a lot of speculation around this trial, and certainly reasonable doubt.

On Piers Tonight, Dionne Warwick states in context…”Difficult to the family to admit, heart-wrenching in fact that this even happened. How could this happen?”  What seems extraordinary to Piers is that he’s interviewed almost all the Jackson’s, and that none of them had any belief or knowledge that he was on drugs?  I mean…how could that be?  Michael was supposedly a very gentle, caring human being (as described by those who knew him best).  It’s hard to believe that he would be so unkind to his own self by being a knowing drug addict.  Dionne Warwick claims her new children’s book, “Little Man”, was not based on Michael Jackson, although oddly it does appear to be the case. There are a lot of young black American’s that need this uplifting message for primarily African American decent, can enjoy and learn from her new children’s book.

Bottom line on the Michael Jackson death trial is this. Dr. Murray certainly acted irresponsible but in no way is responsible for his death.  Michael Jackson was a huge talent. He was a brilliant mind, and knew very well what his issues were or were not. We are ultimately responsible for our drug addictions, but does the law support that statement?  Drug dealers are now being prosecuted harshly when found they were responsible for the sale of the drug that caused the death of another.  And even though some may claim that Dr. Murray was no more than a legal drug dealer, he did certainly have a license to prescribe drugs to the entertainer.

Why are we not able to remember that many well-known Hollywood and other famed stars have died of over-doses?   The statistics are clear.  It’s not odd that a movie-star die from a drug overdose, it’s a sad fact!

I think the family of Michael Jackson is somewhat to blame here as well. Although the good Doctor should lose his license to practice medicine, the family should remember that Michael was a person who had the right to have whoever he wished around him. Don’t they trust their own brother’s judgement that Doctor Murray was a decent (if somewhat decent) human being?

I doubt very, very much that if Michael were alive that he would have this Doctor on trial. It’s my opinion their hurt and despair are driving their vengeful feelings against Dr. Murray. When if in fact, they truly loved their brother, they would free this man from murder charges, or at least change some testimony to state the fact that they trusted their brothers opinion. I do believe they are entitled to see this man be punished, but not so severely.  I suppose they are claiming an eye-for-an-eye, and Michael just did not live on that same belief, if indeed he was so gentle and kind.

Nancy Grace! What’s your opinion.  Oh I forgot. I should tune into the Nancy Grace show.

  • Great article Kathy. You raised a lot of great points here. I think it is sad that we as a society are becoming immune to so many stars overdosing. I remember when Elvis died, the reaction was much different than when Michael died. I do think that it has in part been because Michael Jackson was so surrounded with controversy anyway. People have become numb and no longer care. Do I think that the Doctor is guilty of murder? I will be honest that I am not sure. If not murder, then I think he is guilty of something. Perhaps the tears shed were from the guilt. The ones that I truly feel for are his children. They never asked to be born into the situation that they were. His brothers, sisters, and parents I think did have blinders on. I think that they knew, but just did not want to admit it. No family member ever does want to admit when one has a problem. Oh well…anyway, great article.

  • Of course you love the article, because you love me. Not to say that you don’t have any of your own different opinions, because I’m sure a lot of people will. I just can’t stand seeing his real tears, and yes I believe they’re real. Yes he was caught, obviously in trouble, and a reason to mourn or cry, but I truly believe he is mourning moreover crying crocodile tears. You can tell in his face, and compared to the little witch “Casey Anthony” you have to admit her own stoic look during the entire trial was rather grim. I think he should have instantly called 911, such as in the Casey Anthony case, but yet she’s free. What a bunch of ______.

Was Michael Jackson a Jehovah’s Witness when he died ?

  • I think his family should take some of the blame. If it wasn’t clear by my post I think that they should understand that a family is somewhat responsible for the lack of tough-love with a drug addicted family member or friend.

If Michael was all sunshine and light, like they describe him, why weren’t they all closer and why didn’t someone spot the problems and do an intervention? I’m mortified that, given his serious, obvious addiction that they didn’t know, and worse…didn’t do a darn,(yes darn) thing.

I realize Michael was mostly in seclusion but he had his children in the house with him while he CHOSE to have someone else, or himself, administer drugs. If he was still alive, he would likely have his children removed from his home, if this life-style of giving himself injections of propofol were to come to the fore, beforehand.

    Legal does of propofol

Trial of Dr. Murray by CNN

  • Nancy Grace actually states that he was “undercharged”, he being Doctor Conrad Murray. Michael called propofol “milk”, said “give me my milk”, how could this be a cut and dried case against the Doctor, when there’s evidence that Michael was a drug addict? The world will have to blame someone, and this Doctor is certainly guilty, for sure of criminal negligence, but not murder. Or so my son has expressed so clearly to me in Skype, lol. I agree.

As for his parenting, his children loved him dearly so I doubt they felt abused, but in fact Michael was known to make attempts to get clean, for his kids, that’s as a father should be thinking, period, point blank, end of story. But the fact that he didn’t, proves even furthermore that this drug controlled his entire being, given he so clearly loved his children. Drugs controlled him, he did not control drugs. It’s sick to think that the good Doctor didn’t recognize it. Michael Jackson was not defenseless as Nancy Grace claims. The verdict that speaks the truth, as Nancy so gracefully just said, would be, “The truth is that Micheal’s lifestyle murdered him, at at his own hands, with the negligent Doctor by his bedside!”

Jermaine Jackson’s reaction to Murray trial

    • sheila friend:

your right Kathy, mj lifestyle killed him. just like: elvis presley, marilyn monroe, jim morrison, janis joplin, belushi, anna nicole smith. should i keep going?

  • sheila friend:

Not for sure how to really approach this. An excellent article might i add and alot of truth to both sides. However, i believe the Dr. should be required to be responsbile for his actions as to how much medicatiion mj was taking. A dr. is suppose to be monitoring medications and when an addiction is present, it is the dr. job to say NO MORE. It’s too dangerous. Should the Dr. be punished as a murder?
absolutely NOT. I stongly believe he didn’t want mj to die. As far as why didn’t he call 911? Well, as i see it. He Is the dr. after all when we call 911 for someone who is in distress, it’s because the person needs medical attention from a dr. and well…..He Was the DR. JUST SAYIN……

  • I see a few typing mistakes in the article, I was totally excited while writing it. I will take into account any of your own comments here too, and include them into the final draft. I am open to all opinion of course, it’s the only fair way to debate and get down to the real facts of the matter.

  • Reading this article, which is a great argument by the way, made me realize that Michael’s family is still in denial with the fact that Michael had a drug addiction. Maybe they are guilty of the fact that they were not able to see this or were not able to help him overcome his addiction. There must be an underlying reason why he was addicted to drugs because he seemed like a very strong person to me based on the songs he wrote and sang. They say that music reflects the soul of the man who sings or writes it, and to me this is true. It would be best for the family to accept the facts about Michael’s death and not blame other people for it. They need to go on with their lives and remember the good times they had together.

  • I strongly believe Michael did this to himself, I am sure the good Doctor knew what was going on but when you are being paid for a job you do what you are told to do. And as far as giving this man life in prison or murder charges against him they should probably be dropped to a manslaughter charge.

  • Well here is the scoop from my view.. I find it very interesting that only when a “superstar” dies do we become so interested in his life.. for those of you who were and still are truly his fans than I understand closure.. lord help me I followed and still do “Princess Diana” blogs.. but Michael the great artist he was, was so chastised by the public for so long almost as if they were jealous of his success that just like other “biggies” the kid got lost in the fame and I believe it was too much for him to handle and then he got consumed by fame and probably felt like nothing in his life was controllable.. but his own life.. so then I believe he started to transform himself much like an addict will do.. If you have any type of addiction its because it makes you feel like your in control of yourself.. and Michael who was a billionaire didn’t have to want for anything… and he obviously could put a price on anything and did.. so is this the doctors fault.. well depends… Michael chose his path.. the doctor just administered the drugs.. The family who “didn’t care” now all the sudden are so interested ?? why.. doesn’t Michael have enough money left for them to scrounge around with.. or is it the “media” attention they want.. ??? I say let the man rest in peace.. Just like Elvis, Marilyn, etc.. It’s a shame but he is gone now so let it go and let it alone!!

  • I am totally with you Debbie. I believe the good doctor is guilty but not of murder. But he is still at fault for not doing his job well and for negligence based on other reports.

  • I like the way the facts were laid out here. Each situation was meticulously written for the benefit of the readers. It made me think and ponder the situations and characters in this story. It also made me ask aloud, “Is Dr. Murray guilty or not?”

  • These are very important points you’ve dug out Kathryn. You have covered all the bases in my opinion. In fact, I am now aware of some things that I haven’t noticed before. Thanks for the insight!

  • [...] Michael didn’t have a real heart condition?  I’m sure you have questions of your own.Who was the cause of the death of Michael Jackson. The defense believes they will show that he (Michael) was frustrated because the Doctor [...]
