The Hiding Place

Have you ever just wanted to get away and hide? My place is “not-so-hidden”. However, “my not-so-hidden” place, is still all mine, my personal hiding place.
It sits right out in open view. It is my front porch swing.
There are days the house just seems too full. I need to get away. But with the price of gas, jumping in the car and driving away is a luxury that is not readily affordable these days. Not for me anyway. So I simply walk out the front door and sit on my porch swing. Such a simple pleasure.
Here on my front porch swing, I can escape. I can sit here with my own thoughts with no one else invading them. I can breathe and take just a few moments to just hide from the chaos that is taking place in my home, if in fact my home is chaotic at the time, and lately it has been.
It is here that I can remind myself of how happy I am to be alive. I got up this morning so I am happy! I felt my feet hit that floor and sucked down that first cup of coffee.
It is here that I can count my many blessings. I am alive. I have a job. I love my family. I have a roof over my head, shoes on my feet, and food on my table. My needs are met.
Even more than this is the fact that my hiding place is a place to commune with God. Now here, some of you may look down on me for this, while others may cheer me on; the fact I believe in God anyway! But God is important to me and here I find a place to be with him alone.
Now the hiding place is the place for me to be me. Do you have a hiding place? Find one. It is great!

This is the year of the Presidential election. How many of you are diligently watching all the stuff going on with the political figures ...

Yes I think we all need a place where we can go and just enjoy life, what we have, our families and God, Yes I to believe in God! My hiding place is wherever I might be and it’s quite so i an just relax and rejoice in life.
I have a hiding place also. Melts all the commotion and disarrangement from that day. Yes everyone should have one.
