Obama Guts Clean Air Act

It comes as little surprise to anyone anymore to hear today that President Obama has caved yet again to Republicans and the corporations for which they stand. Oh but Obama campaigned so vigorously on environmental protection in 2007 his historic stand down today on setting new EPA standards does cause whiplash.
It was Barack Obama, after all, who campaigned on adding new provisions to the decades-old Clean Air Act that would offer more certain legal protections for the endangered upper Ozone layer. In fact, a draft of the new Ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standards was written and ready to be presented to congress. Then, as often happens with Obama, he withdrew any action on the paper after consulting with his corporate masters.
Lenders to the major business groups, including The United States Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Manufacturers, the American Petroleum Institute, and the Business Roundtable have often proven quite able at whistling a tune they wish Mr. Obama to dance to. And when asked to jump by such as General Electric and Chevron, he continues to answer politely and unfailingly, “Yes, Sir! How high?”
After railing against the Bush environmental policy to abandon the Clean Air Act to its own resources, Obama is now inclined to assume the same air of detachment. Oh well, it’s just the Ozone layer, and it’s way up there and you can’t really see it anyway. Never mind, I guess.
So Shell, Chevron, GE, McDonnell Douglas, Boeing and Raytheon win again. They can save the bundles of cash they might have otherwise had to fork over just to make kids with asthma breathe a little easier.
I fail to find humor in any of this, so I left it out.

This is the year of the Presidential election. How many of you are diligently watching all the stuff going on with the political figures ...

I think he’s getting a lot of Democrats unhappy. If so, will he be re-elected? It just doesn’t stand to think such! (This, nor any other article post, response or entry does not necessary reflect the opinion or attitude of Sovereign Funding, it’s owners or employees)
Does anyone think Obama will be re-elected? Let us know.

No I do not believe he will be re-elected! Not with the mess the economy and peoples lives have become. I believe we need a big change and soon.
