Has anyone considered whether or not Jeb Bush will be running for office on the Republican ticket?

Romney, Bachmann, Perry, Gingrich, Cain, Huntsman, Palin (if she chooses to enter the race) and that other guy all have one thing in common, and it’s not the Tea Party.
The RNC is less than enthused with any of them, and they are generally viewed as a silly and laughable lot by even the most stalwart Republican, with the exception of Ron Paul, who just scares them silly. And each, in his and her own way, may be merely stalking horses for the candidacy of Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Word is out on the left and the right. The GOP has been quietly and craftily testing the waters for Bush by encouraging obvious loonies to prance before the cameras and whinny out comments that scare religious zealots and research scientists alike.

The only reason the GOP has orchestrated this loony tunes parade is to prepare the entrance of Jeb Bush, who will be positioned, by default, as the only adult in the room.
The concept of the stalking horse dates back to the early days when men and women were still hunter gatherers. It was difficult to approach the faster game on foot, and the weapons of the day  were not advanced or sophisticated enough to be accurate at long distances. Therefore they used large domesticated animals to hide behind while sneaking to within range for thee kill, because the wild game were less afraid of being around cows and horses. Since the horse was used to being guided by men, the term “stalking horse” became popular usage in daily hunting life.

History is rife with examples of “stalking horse” political campaigns. Ostensible candidates are used to challenge incumbents only as a means of testing the likelihood of another “real” candidate being able to beat them.

There has been quite a bit of discussion on the both the right and the left about whether or not this is the approach the GOP power-brokers  have chosen to use to challenge Obama. We will have to wait a few months for the Jeb surprise, but one must ask why else would Bachmann, Gingrich, Perry et al be positioned to roam so freely and act so insanely if other than to serve as a distracting, colorful herd of silly horses for Mr. Bush to lurk behind?  Jeb are you going to run?  If so, you just might win!
